Biography

Award Winning Indian Filmmaker • Director • Producer • Writer • Creative Technologist whose work brings together documentary cinema, cultural storytelling, emerging technologies, and visual innovation. With a multidisciplinary background in engineering, software development, and filmmaking, he combines technological expertise with cinematic storytelling to create films that explore culture, heritage, spirituality, community, and human experience.

Over the course of his filmmaking journey, Alok has worked across documentaries, animated films, cultural and heritage narratives, and technology-driven visual projects. His creative approach is rooted in authentic storytelling while embracing new cinematic possibilities offered by artificial intelligence, digital production, animation, and emerging visual technologies.

His work has gained recognition at film festivals and international creative platforms. In 2026, the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC) selected three of his films for screening at the AI Immersive Theatre during the India AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, placing his work in a setting that brought together technology leaders, innovators, policymakers, and international delegates.

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, and NFDC selected one of his films among the Top 10 films at the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) 2026, where it also received a special screening.

His films have received official selections at international festivals and competitions including the Awesome International Film Festival, New York, Verashort International Film Festival, Mexico, MISTER VORKY International Festival of Cinema Art, Serbia, DO PÃO – International Documentary Film Festival, Portugal, Corleone Film Festival – Cinema, Arte e Cultura per il riscatto dell'identità territoriale, Italy, Best Shorts Competition, California, and AI Film 3 – AI Film and Art Festival, Arizona. Two of his films were also selected for the SHE Creates Shorts Fest & Expo, Ohio, MORPHÉ Film Festival.

Two of his films were honored with Best Film awards. His work also received recognition at the 001 Funartt Film Awards, where one of his films received the Best Film Award in the Environmental/Climate Short category.

Alok’s portfolio now comprises 19+ films selected and screened at film festivals and cinematic platforms across India and internationally. His international creative recognition includes selections and screenings at the Festival du Dessin Animé de Bruxelles and Anima Mundi Film Festival, Brazil.

Alok continues to explore the evolving possibilities of filmmaking by combining traditional narrative craft with emerging technologies. His work seeks to create visually compelling and emotionally resonant films while documenting cultural memory and bringing stories of heritage, identity, faith, environmental consciousness, and human connection to contemporary audiences.
